This one has been near the top of the list for a while, but kept being shelved because I just kept not feeling the spark when trying to work on it. Well, this time, that spark was pretty huge!
When people ask how I sculpt in blender, or ask for help with modeling in blender, I always say "Well, i treat it like a digital ball of clay" which can be confusing. So, here's a step by step of that process- it starts with actually just digital balls of clay. I rough in the shape and figure out which shapes should be separate pieces and which can be sculpted directly on, then start adding detail and make a new ball to use as the eye (When starting out, I would just draw the eye on- it worked, but this way is SO MUCH easier lol). I work from piece to piece. Then, I join as I go and blend those pieces into each other, and once everything is set, do my final detailing. I try to make many saves as I go, but often accidentally save over the early ones.
It's been a learning process, and definitely a difficult medium to learn with the added challenge of getting pieces ready to produce in resin. And it DEFINITELY always comes with more than a few silly looking stages!
This girl and the ducks are printing today! I'll hopefully update with some fancy listing photos this evening!
