Get ready for something new and spectacular!
Interdisciplinary artist Borinquen Gallo Studio will transform our Community and Partnership Gallery into a lush, site-specific installation that explores the consequences of disposable consumer culture and its complex effect on the environment, opening September 18! 🌿
With help from the public, Gallo will create an immersive artwork from familiar discarded materials—including netting, caution tape, and plastic bags—into dense, textural weavings. The installation will also include animated projections of butterflies and jungle critters that expand visually onto the surrounding gallery walls.
Plus, YOU are invited to witness and participate in her process firsthand, learn about her practice, and even contribute to the evolving exhibition at the HRM.
Public viewing hours from 12–3pm on:
Wednesday August 19
Friday, August 21
Wednesday, August 26
Friday, August 28
Wednesday, September 2
