Made my first test batch of glaze since college (10 years ago). This one should come out ranging from caramel to deep brown based on thickness. And I've got to catch a selfie of me in my mask. Dry glaze materials are not nice to the lungs, so gotta be safe.

GK Pottery is in the process of setting up for in house glazes. Materials have been ordered, recipes have been curated, and test tiles made. Hopefully an initial test set will be finished by the end of May.

This might seem like a dorky post, but I am so grateful for the kiln that I have. I've affectionately named her Fern, after my great grandmother and her first owner. I've been working on upgrading my studio this last month to optimize space and functionality. Finally got some more shelves and a better workbench put in today. With my studio being only 44 square feet, it's important to utilize every inch of space.
