Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association

09/15/2026

A special thank you to Buckeye Quarter Midget Racing for giving our retiring Miami Valley drivers the opportunity to take their final laps this season. With Miami Valley unable to hold retirement laps at our home track, having a nearby place where their families and friends can still be part of that special moment means a great deal to us.

We also felt this was the perfect opportunity to bring together retiring drivers from our other Local Central Ohio tracks — Buckeye, Central Ohio London, Mac-O-Chee and Miami Valley — and celebrate them together. We’re so happy to have these drivers sharing their final laps together, surrounded by the parents, families, friends and racing families who have supported them along the way.

We hope everyone will stay and help us celebrate these drivers Saturday night, sign their flags, leave them a few words of encouragement, and be part of one more special memory before they move on to their next chapter.

*Please reach out if any other Central Ohio drivers from any of our local 4 tracks would like to also be included in the retirement laps at Midwest Thunder.
***The other tracks will still hold final laps at their last club races as normal with the exception of MV.

📣 2026 Miami Valley Season Update

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association will not be able to complete the remainder of our 2026 season at Darana Raceway.

After discussion, our members who are competing for points have decided to accept the current standings as final and conclude our 2026 championship points season as-is. Because of this, our final two scheduled race weekends at Darana Raceway will not be held.

While we are disappointed that our season is ending sooner than planned, we strongly encourage our racing families to continue supporting quarter midget racing throughout Central Ohio. There are still opportunities to race as Mac-O-Chee QMRAaCentral Ohio Quarter Midget Racing AssociationrBuckeye Quarter Midget Racing Association Supporting our neighboring clubs helps keep this sport strong for all of our young drivers.

We sincerely appreciate every family, driver, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who joined us at Miami Valley this season. ❤️🏁

We hope to have more information to share regarding the future of Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association as it becomes available.

Thank you for your continued support of our club and, most importantly, of youth quarter midget racing. 🏁

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Shell family. Ellis and his family were highly involved in the quarter midget racing community for many years and proudly called the central Ohio clubs home. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. 🖤🏁

View Ellis Junior Shell's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

On Behalf of Miami Valley we would like to Congratulations to Joe Herb, the recipient of the John Saunders Award. 🏆

The John Saunders Award is presented to someone who truly reflects the values that John brought to quarter midget racing—selfless service, kindness, integrity, and a lasting impact on those around them. It recognizes the people who quietly make our sport better, not for recognition, but because they genuinely care about the kids, the families, and the future of racing.

Joe Herb is the perfect example of what this award represents. Whether he’s lending a hand in the pits, sharing his knowledge, encouraging a new family, or simply showing up with a positive attitude, Joe is always willing to help. His generosity, humility, and dedication have touched countless racers and families throughout our community.

Thank you, Joe, for everything you do behind the scenes. Your willingness to serve others and your commitment to our racing family embody the spirit of the John Saunders Award. This recognition is truly well deserved.

Congratulations, Joe! 💙🏁

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Miami Valley for a great day of racing. We witnessed some incredible competition, great sportsmanship, and so many moments that remind us why we love this racing family.

We want to sincerely thank all of the drivers, families, volunteers, officials, sponsors, and spectators who came out to support both Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association and the Midwest Thunder Regional Series. Your support means more to our club than words can express.

We are also deeply sorry for the unfortunate events that prevented us from finishing our event. This has been a very difficult time for our club, and we appreciate the understanding, kindness, and support that has been shown to us. Your encouragement reminds us just how strong this racing community truly is.

Thank you for standing with us. We are grateful for each and every one of you, and we look forward to brighter days ahead together.

🏁 Race Weekend is Here! 🏁

Tomorrow kicks off Round 3 of the Midwest Thunder Regional Series at Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association!

Before the green flag drops, let’s celebrate the amazing Kids who make this sport so special and the reason we’re all here! ❤️

📸 Share a picture of your driver in the comments and tell us:

What’s one thing at the racetrack that always puts the biggest smile on your driver’s face?

(Besides winning… 😉)

Is it hanging out with friends, putting on their helmet, helping in the pits, hearing their name over the PA, getting a high five, grabbing a post-race treat, or something else?

We can’t wait to learn more about the incredible drivers behind the helmets. 🏁💙
