Listening to “Whistle Down the Wind: an Improvisational Travelogue” by Tyra Penn and Her Army of Snakes

I strongly recommend that you give it a listen…

A great mix of jazz, folk and “Song”…. reminiscent of some deep Amy Winehouse cuts without the accent and, date we say, some Lady Gaga during her collaborations with Tony Bennett. Someone with more extensive musical knowledge might be able to come up with better comparisons. Maybe even a few hints of Blood Sweat and Tears (Come On Up to the House)… this all without a mention that it is an eclectic offering of the works of Tom Waits…

Snakes include Russ Gershon, Miki Matsui, Molly Flannery, Chuck Gabriel, Paul Courchaine and Jeff Galindo.
