We are excited to announce we have been awarded a grant from Choral Arts New England to help us fund our Connecticut Premiere of “And My Neighbor Is…” composed by the incredibly talented Ellen Gilson Voth.
We know there were many applicants and we are both humbled and grateful that CANE chose to help us launch this wonderful project! Stay tuned for more info on this project as we get closer to the premiere!

A very special thank you to our audience for coming out tonight! We had a wonderful time sharing this experience with you all, and we hope that you all went home a little lighter in spirit than when you arrived! There are a lot of ways to wrap up a season, but this feels like a pretty good one! See you next season!

1) How long have you been part of MSW?

This spring marks my 4th spring concert. I started in the fall of 2022.

2) Favorite thing about being in the group?

It brought music back into my life after years of thinking that I wouldnt get to perform anymore. And now I get to surround myself with people with a common love for music.

3) Hobbies outside of the group?

I cosplay! I go to anime, comic, horror, and pop culture conventions across New England, and beyond; dressed up as Abe Lincoln, usually the Vampire Hunter from the movie/book of the same name.

4) Favorite piece on the program?

Musically? The Runner. If i had an activity that so spiritually connected me to the world that I “burst into song”, that’s exactly how it would sound.

Lyrically? The Innocence. From the first time I heard the piece years ago, the words perfectly captured an aching and longing in me personally, and as a society, that I had struggled to voice up to that point.

5) what would you say to someone considering joining the group?

What do you have to lose, besides maybe 2 hours a week, and maybe 3 Saturdays?
What do you look to gain, besides 30+ new friends, a broader view of the world through art, and a chance to bring music into the lives of yourself and others?
Sometimes, we need a break from the world; we need to remember that there are great people, and great moments to be had.
So come take a break with us!
