Wow! Last night at Bethel Woods Dark Star Orchestra blew my mind again! It sure is wonderful to see such talented folks playing the music of the Grateful Dead. Their dedication to the music is something special to witness. I've seen a lot of Dead bands. DSO is like no other!
After growing up and learning from Jeff Mattson most of my adult life, I tend to tap in to what Jeff is doing on stage. To see him slay that guitar and lead the band throughout the moments; in and out of the garden, 😉, brings me a joy that is like no other!
Thank you, Jeff, and all of DSO for recharging my batteries, and for giving me a space to go for grate music and dancing and love and family.
I am so very grateful for times like these. Times where I can gather with friends I love for some of the most electrifying music I've ever heard.
I can shake my bones and really cut loose. And that's exactly what I did last night!
I love the music and the culture of the Grateful Dead.
That's why I started the radio show on WKZE 98.1 FM and I'm just now starting the podcast on YouTube
I'd like to be a part of the community who helps keep this music alive. I feel lucky to have gotten on the bus in '89, and to have met so many of the band members over the years. I was glad I was able to thank them for giving this to me. Well, they have given so much all of us. Aren't we blessed?
So let's keep this all going so others can experience some of the things that we love. They can meet their new family and find their happy home.
Long live the Grateful Dead 💙⚡️♥️
Tune in Mondays at 7pm EST to Wkze.com or anytime on YouTube to join in my celebration of the band, their music, and the culture and family we all have here.
I'm sending you all heartfelt smiles, and I'm reminding us all to keep that love alive, one smile at a time.
