Does anyone know who "Grandma Cravath" was?
Happy Pi Day!
In 2018, the Montana Historical Society teamed up with the Montana State University to create "A Taste of the Past: Gathering Montana’s Food Heritage.” Together, we recorded and digitized some of the food and recipes of Eastern Montana, funded by a National Endowment for the Humanities Common Heritage Grant.
Women from Richland and Roosevelt counties brought recipes, including this one from Grandma Cravath.
Today, those recipes are part of our Montana Foodways Digital Collection.
But we digress! Pi Day is celebrated around the world on March 14 (3/14), because we all know the circumference of a circle to its diameter is roughly 3.14159 - along with the rest of the infinite trillions of digits of Pi, which continue without repetition or a pattern.
Enjoy your pie.
