Everything about this meal was a delight.

We eat at home because I have access to quality, local ingredients; I’m a very good cook, and it’s generally more affordable for better food than most restaurants serve.

Bragging? I don’t think so. It’s just that I’ve been making meals since I was six years old. I care about flavor, nourishment, alchemy… and the experience of sharing the foods I prepare.

When a meal in a restaurant serves up all that, and I get to enjoy an environment that’s away from home… well, it’s worth noting!

I’m already conjuring up a meal to featuew a sauce like they served with these mussels!

Epicurean Delights in all ways.

Returning to long ago places. Familiar and not at all the same.

The first days of this somewhat impromptu trip brought me to the Sacramento River where I watched fish jumpin’ and great white egrets landing in the trees. Dusk and dawn, my re-entry to northern Californian.

Few things I deeply miss from life here: Oak Trees on rolling hills and Redwood Forests. The former was served up to my delight!

Time on a hold-out small ranch, nestled between orange and pomegranate trees. Robust, symbolic fruits that don’t grow in my now home-climate.

Ranches and orchards being lost to massive zero-lot houses in concrete tracts. A trend that still befuddles me.

Anyway… join me as I share some cherished moments from the road. Making connections for Mystic Arts & Alchemy, opening to inspiration of people, places and plants.

Is this Heaven? Perhaps.

Inside my house I caught sight of the changing light and view just now.

Sky in late day colors, mountains, water, trees and my own backyard.

The color-light show continued. For how long? I cannot say. I wasn’t counting minutes while basking in the grace.

Where was this tutorial when I cut back a massive Pompous grass at our last house in California.

I suffered that project with many injuries and lots of sweat.

The sweat I don’t mind so much. There’s something really satisfying about work with the land and plants that I feel envigorated by.

Ours may be the only camp with prayer flags.

I love this set of flags with sacred geometry. We brought these as gifts for many of our hosting friends during our elopement roadtrip last year.

Forgot to keep a set for home! Need to add them to our home gardens, don’t you think? I’ve ordered a set and will hang them when we return home.

Also, when we return, I have some news to share about Mystic Arts & Alchemy. It’s time to make some changes — not the ones I anticipated.

I’ll tell you about later this month and let you know how you can reap the benefits (and sale!)…

Till then, enjoy some nature and quirk that speaks to me.

For the past few years I’ve enjoyed the delights of orchids reblooming.

What are your tips for growing healthy, blooming orchids at home?

I keep mine on the windowsill of the kitchen nook. It’s an east facing so gets morning light (when it’s not raining or cloudy ☺️).

Accessing Innate Wisdom, by any other name. It's something we each can do.

Whether we call it Divine Guidance or Channelling or Inspiration or ... well, you tell me, if you need a name for it.

There are those who suggest you must be worthy of a connection to Source in order to access that which is your Highest Nature. As if you have to follow their way of knowing, hearing, seeing, being Divine.

Your way is...
Your Way.
The Tao of You.

The first biodynamic garden/farm/winery I ever experienced was

This week I revisited their beautiful property in Glen Ellen, Sonoma.

During the years between these visits my experience as a gardener, alchemist, advocate of care for the land and our participation with what and how we grow, what and how we share, what and how we live with the plants, the creatures, the land, each other.

This rose … and many roses! And so much more.

Late season blossoms.

So few this year in these gardens as the new fenced garden requires lots of time, energy, money and creativity collaboration (and labor!) this year.

That and two winters with hard freeze temps, and two summers of I hungry/thirsty deer, and a very dry few months…

It all means we lost some plants, and lost many flowers and vegetables …

I have ever more appreciation, compassion and understanding of the lives our farmers live.

All that to say: these blossoms are divine!
