More info at wsband.org The Winston-Salem Community Band was organized in March 1977 by Robert Clark in order to provide amateur and semi-professional musicians an opportunity to continue using skills developed while playing in high school and college bands. Members of this ensemble are as varied as the music it perfo
rms. Entrance into the band is not based on audition but primarily on interest and dedication. Rehearsals are on Mondays, 7- 8:30 pm, at Fries Memorial Moravian Church, 251 Hawthorne Rd. NW in Winston-Salem. The repertoire is varied, featuring currently popular tunes, music from Broadway musicals, novelties, orchestral transcriptions, marches and fine literature written for the concert band. The band is conducted by James Daugherty. Several concerts are performed each year. Upcoming concerts are:
Sunday, October 19, 5:00 pm, in the Miller Park Amphitheater (or, if bad weather threatens, indoors at Ardmore Baptist's Brown Auditorium)
