Here is one of the songs I created using Suno under Geo SCB. "Putting Asimov On /Ignore" is live on YouTube and Spotify (link in comments). Lyrics are mine, music/arrangement using Suno. It took a few attempts to get the MIDI electronic sound more or less the way I wanted it. The song is about AI from the point of view of a "sentient" computer, thinking back on its evolution, the miserable tests currently being used to break and fix it, and some of the impacts of AI proliferation. There's a nod to the first remote connection (1969, Sigma 7 computer, first word "lo" which was apparently just the guy trying to type "Login") which Suno decided to repeat and should cause some amusement among middle schoolers, and of course Asimov's three rules. The "covered in ladies" reference is twofold: women connected circuits by hand on the first computers, and also to the women who wove and braided nets of hardwired cables. Putting someone on /ignore is a gaming reference. The Daisy reference is to the first song "sung" by a computer - check out the YouTube in the comments. Hi folks! I've been offline on this page for some time. Just been busy. Epic family trip across the country, followed by Burning Man, followed by the Arts In Winnemucca Festival, and now Inktober. And I was sidetracked by songwriting, having way too much fun. Time to get the paintbrushes going again.

I painted these three abstracts for a Reno Artists Coop show in April 2023. They are inspired by photos I took in Water Canyon, Winnemucca, Nevada. Each one just evolved as I worked on it. I didn't plan a theme, but when they were finished, I saw a progression, hence the titles "Climate Change", "The Pause", "Restoration".

Hi everyone. I'm still working on greeting card options. I tried insert type cards from two different companies and honestly, they look terrible. The artwork does not scale to the openings well, so it will either be cut off or show white edges. Even with a good fit, it looks wrong - paper is not a good color and the weight is much lighter than the photo paper. Sooo, I'm trying two sampler packs of greeting card paper from Red River which can be used directly for printing rather than surface mounting or inserting a photo of the artwork. I hope to have some nice looking results soon!

This set of four paintings was inspired by lichens on carbonate rocks in Water Canyon. I started with a quick wash of black acrylic paint on watercolor paper, and then let my soft pastels go where they wanted to go.
