Keep your vacuum clean to prevent bacteria growth and that awful smell.

Empty the containment bin often and wash it with soap. Let it air dry. Also, clean your filters. Most of them can be washed. If not washable (check manufacturer) then order new ones and replace them. If you wash them, be sure to let them dry well.

Finally, clean the roller brush underneath. Hair, carpet strands and numerous other things can get wrapped around the brush and prevent it from grabbing debris.

As a final step in cleaning tubs and showers, wash with dish soap. It helps clear cleaning product residue off surfaces. Residue can actually trap dirt particles and cause build up more quickly than a squeaky clean surface.

Used more then 1 kind of stainless steel cleaner and have a smeared mess? Clean it off with a magic eraser and start over. Pick one stainless product and stick with it.
