The Wilmington Dance Festival is a celebration of evocative local dancers and choreographers. Wilmington Dance Festival is co-presented with the Dance Cooperative, a non-profit here in Wilmington focused on providing affordable classes, rehearsal spaces, and performance opportunities to those under-served artistically, culturally, and economically in the greater Wilmington area.

On Thursday, April 21st the Office of the Arts will be hosting a screening of Lily Topples the World, an exciting documentary that is a part of the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers.

Please show up between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for a meet and greet with Chris Wright of Domino Masters as he builds a custom domino design on the Kenan stage. UNCW Presents another memorable show at Kenan Auditorium this April 9th at 7:30 p.m. - Las Cafeteras!

Using traditional Son Jarocho instruments like the jarana, requinto, quijada (donkey jawbone), and tarima (a wooden platform), Las Cafeteras sing in English, Spanish, and Spanglish, and add a remix of sounds from rock to hip-hop to rancheras. Las Cafeteras use music as a vehicle to build bridges between different cultures and communities, creating ‘a world where many worlds fit.’ Born and raised east of the Los Angeles River, Las Cafeteras remix roots music and deliver inspiring lyrics to tell modern-day stories of a community seeking love and justice in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles. SEAHAWK FAM IS BACK! UNCW Presents is delighted to share a series of programs for younger audiences called SEAHAWK Family Arts Matinees, or SEAHAWK FAM for short. The series is BACK for Summer of 2022 with $5 performances on Thursday mornings, designed as a creative and entertaining respite from the summer heat. We are pleased to announced the 2022 Lumina Festival of the Arts! The Lumina Festival is UNCW’s annual celebration of the arts in the coastal south. The festival will take place from March 16-29. This year, in honor of the university’s efforts to diversify and heal as a community, the 13-day spring lineup will be a collaboration between Lumina Festival and Wilmington’s own, Reggae Redemption Radio Broadcast, hosted by the Night Nurse of Coastal Carolinas Modern Rock 98.7.
