Super fine time in Wilmington, NC, capped off by a performance at the absolutely splendid listening room venue Live At Ted's. Couldn't have had nicer hosts than the owners Trent and Whitney Harrison who made sure performers and audience members were comfy in this house-turned-venue with art and album covers on the walls, photos on a mantle on stage, all sorts of comfortable chairs, food and drink, the whole shebang. Outstanding sound system, and Trent took real care in getting my sound to my liking. The audience was especially attentive and affirming, befitting the listening room vibe. My words don't do this place justice, so see for yourself by checking out their website at
https://www.liveatteds.com. Side note: I visited Gravity Records before heading to the venue. What a great record store. It specializes in vinyl, and Matt, the owner, was friendly and conversational. It reminded me of a used record store I frequented in Dayton, Ohio back in the early 80's - chill and well-stocked, with easy going, knowledgeable people working the place. All in all, this trip made me think these two Wilmington stalwarts would make living there worth thinking about.
Mark your calendars for TOMORROW NIGHT! We are so excited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act, a bedrock environmental law! Flytrap Brewing is helping us celebrate with a pint night on Tuesday, October 4th from 5-8pm. They are generously donating $1 per every pint of beer sold! Smoky Dunes will bring the vibes, Wheelz Pizza will bring the ‘za and multiple local businesses (Great Outdoor Provision Co., Seabird Restaurant, Gravity Records, Luna Caffe and Cruise Cape Fear Boat Tours) are providing items and gift cards for a raffle! We really hope to see you there!
