Has anyone else read the report about Ireland starting a pilot program to pay artists (visual, musician, dancers, filmmakers...)a wage (considering them laborers) to see how it would affect the economy? After a year it was analyzed and they just made it a permanent program as of February 2026 because research from the pilot phase indicated significant benefits for participants and society:

Productivity: Recipients spent an average of 11 more hours per week on creative practice compared to a control group.

Well-being: Participants reported lower levels of anxiety and depression and higher life satisfaction.

Economic Return: A cost-benefit analysis found that for every €1 invested, the program generated €1.39 in economic and social benefits through tax generation and reduced welfare reliance.

This online show will be up for a year, but see this painting in person Friday April 10 at my solo show Transformations .
