Once I started making this I thought, how about double sided!? So here we are. It’s kooky and cute and the only thing that matters is that she loves it and she does!

I love little projects like this because they # challenge what I know how to do and it is low stakes because regardless of how it turned out or if things lined up perfectly it would still be a fun thing for my lil girl to have and enjoy.

SIDE QUEST! I always seem to find little random projects that WON’T GET OUT OF MY HEAD, like a song you don’t want stuck in your head and you keep singing and singing. So, the only way to get it out is to MAKE THE THING!

I was initially making an apron for my mother in law, Oma, but I thought oh, maybe I’ll test run my apron making skills with one for Maude to play in! And eventually I did make one for Oma that turned out great because of some of the trial and error here.

And of course, when I was feeling all gung-ho about filming my creation process, my phone died mid video so the finishing touches did not get filmed but I will post some clips of the finished project that Maudie has already put to good use!!

Beautiful Bargello pieces by my sweet client K. When I went to pick up the quilt she set toys out for my kiddos to play with and little stuff like that means the world to me.

K has been working on this quilt for 5 years! AND it’s only her fifth quilt ever! I’m so proud of the work she did and as always honored when people trust me with any project they’ve created.

K’s son picked out the pattern and they chose fabric together. I felt like I was working with some vintage fabrics because they were from Joanne’s lol. I picked out the pattern with K and got to work!

She loved the finished product and can not wait to give it to her son for his birthday!

This little star was the first thing Philip ever pieced and then he added a border and then we got to quilting! He did all the tie offs and helped choose patterns as we went along. This little custom piece we made together turned out so happy! I am loving the pink thread against the yellow and it kind of reminds us of Tangled the little Disney Rapunzel movie!
