Kansas Bandmasters Middle Level Honor Band was Friday, July 18. While most people are still enjoying summer break, 100 middle schoolers came together to rehearse for about 6 hours and give a concert.

Tyler S. Grant is a fantastic composer and clinician - the students had a blast and the final concert was amazing!!

Congrats Addie, JD, and Elanor! I’m proud of your dedication and hard work!!

Unfortunately the weather resulted in a canceled halftime performance, but we still had a good day. Rehearsal with the HSers this morning and some time in the stands for the game before the weather hit. Great job 8th graders, you showed growth and maturity on the field this morning - I’m proud of you!

It’s a great day in the summer when you get to make music with some of the best musicians in the state! HWMS alums Cael and Carson are spending their Friday in the Kansas Bandmasters Mid-Level honor band, directed by Tom Torrento from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan! What a fun fantastic day!!!!

The HWMS 8th grade band joined forces with the 8th grade from HMS to perform at the Heartland Music Festival on Saturday. They received a double-one Sweepstakes rating and the trumpet and percussion sections received special recognition! much fun was had at Frontier City afterwards!!!

It was a great day at Honor Band!
Congrats to our 12 fabulous HW musicians! You worked hard, represented us well, and put on a fantastic final concert!

The difference of 8 am and 10 am at Haysville West today!

The 62 best students from 5 of our league schools (including 12 representing HWMS) are working hard all day today to put together a great concert. Dr. Alex Wimmer from K-State is here directing them today.

Concert is at 3 pm and open to the public.
