Just the loveliest time at our Mini Brush Lettering Workshop this afternoon. Chaunta contacted me and wondered if I could fill an afternoon break at a conference they were attending this weekend. Absolutely yes! This group was definitely laughter-filled!

Hi friends, it's been a little while!

2025 has been quite a year for us. I went back to school for a one year accelerated Master's Degree in Education (which I'll graduate with in December) and stepped back into teaching full time this fall. We are also moving out of Wichita. We won't be far, but this has been another transition for us. It has been a beautiful year of learning and growing and stretching, but it did mean that Sparrow Lettering took a back seat.

A few questions I've been asked:

Will I continue teaching workshops?
I sure hope so! One of the absolute joys of my adult life has been teaching calligraphy. It may look a little different going forward, but hopefully this will continue in some way. For now, if you have a group that wants to get together and learn, and you have a space to hold the workshop, please reach out. Group workshops at my venue will hopefully resume at the first of the year.

Will I be at a Holiday Market this year?
No, not this season.

Will I still be doing custom orders for the holidays?
Yes, on a limited basis. Please let me know if you have something in mind.

I'm sure I've missed a message or two, please forgive me! Thank you, as always, for being the best group of people. I appreciate each of you.

Intro to Modern Calligraphy was great today! Making sure you have a good foundation of upstrokes and downstrokes combined with correct pressure is so important. Look at your letters not as a full letter, but as the strokes of each letter, and that will lead to more consistency.

For all workshops, all your materials will be waiting AT THE WORKSHOP. There is nothing to pick up beforehand!
