Butler Community College - Phi Theta Kappa This is the Butler Community College Alpha Phi Alpha chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society.

We are excited to have you here! Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society for the 2 year college. Phi Theta Kappans are recognized for their academic achievement as well as their community service, fellowship, and leadership. The four hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa, our guiding principles for programming, include: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. Our many traditions and customs make this society a "Fellowship of Scholars". Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold:
1.Recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and;
2.Provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.

Scholar Dash is back March 1โ€“20, 2027, and this year, weโ€™re changing the game!

Introducing Scholar Dash: The Chapter Challenge
Chapters will rally their members, alumni, advisors, and supporters to unlock scholarships for students. The more your chapter raises, the more scholarships you unlock and the closer you get to the top of the leaderboard!

The mission hasnโ€™t changed: creating more scholarship opportunities for PTK members. But this year, weโ€™re making it bigger, more competitive, and a whole lot more fun.

For Sherri Conard, Butler was an affordable way to begin her college education close to home. But her experience quickly became about much more than saving money.โฃโฃ

As a student worker in the Financial Aid Office and an Ambassador for Admissions, Conard gained confidence, learned to balance work and school, and built friendships and connections that would stay with her long after graduation.โฃโฃ
โฃ
After earning her bachelorโ€™s degree from Emporia State University, Conard returned to Butler to begin her professional career โ€” and never left. Today, she is entering her 29th year as a Butler employee.โฃโฃ

Butler has also become a family tradition. All three of Conardโ€™s children attended and graduated from Butler, and she and her husband have established a Foundation Scholarship to help todayโ€™s students begin their own Butler stories.โฃโฃ
