Tribal Roots and The Upper Deck invite you to the first ever Beat Bus Edition- an immersive fusion of music, art, technology, and community that brings a taste of something rarely seen in Kansas.

The Upper Deck will be transformed through vibrant projection mapped visuals, turning the bus into a living work of art that evolves throughout the night. Inside, local Dj’s will take over the decks, creating an energetic dance floor experience unlike anything else in Wichita.

Powered by the renowned Element 5 Sound System, every set will be delivered with exceptional clarity and sound quality, providing the perfect platform to showcase the incredible talent emerging from Wichita’s underground electronic music scene.

While The Upper Deck isn’t technically an art car, this event serves as an introduction to the concept, one of the most iconic and inspiring aspects of Burning Man culture. An art cars is an interactive, transformed vehicle that becomes a moving work of art and gathering space. We are excited to share a glimpse of that spirit with Wichita and explore how creative expression can transform even the most unexpected spaces.

This event is all ages and designed to celebrate local artists, Dj’s, and the power of immersive experiences to bring the people together.

Tribal Roots is teaming up with Kind Kravings/The Upper Deck and Next Stop Comedy for an unforgettable evening of laughter, community, and connection at Gallery Place Project in the heart of downtown Wichita.

Comedy has always been one of our favorite forms of medicine and art. It has a unique way of bringing people together, helping us see life from new perspectives, and reminding us not to take ourselves to seriously. That's why we are excited to provide space where talented comedians can share their craft and express themselves while creating an experience that leaves everyone a little lighter.

Join us for a night of live stand up comedy under the stars, surrounded by good people, great vibes, and the creative energy that makes our community special.

Facts

We heard about what's happening at the Gorge this weekend, and we thought we'd offer our two cents...

What’s happening in the live music world right now should probably concern all of us.

As festivals and venues continue consolidating under massive corporate structures, the experience itself is starting to change. Bigger crowds. Higher fees. More barriers between artists and fans. Less humanity. Less community. Less care.

When corporations become gatekeepers to culture, music slowly stops feeling like a shared experience and starts feeling like a product pipeline.

And the sad reality is… scenes don’t usually collapse all at once. They slowly get drained. Ticket prices climb. Independent promoters disappear. Smaller artists struggle to survive. Fans burn out financially. Eventually, only giant monopoly-backed events remain… until even those start cracking under their own weight.

That’s why independent gatherings matter now more than ever.

Not because they’re perfect.
Not because they have unlimited resources.
But because they’re built by actual people who still care about connection, creativity, intimacy, and culture over extraction.

Events like Space Oasis aren’t trying to become mega-corporate entertainment machines. We’re trying to preserve something that feels increasingly rare:

Real community.
Real art.
Real human connection.

The future of underground culture may not be 50,000-person corporate festivals.

It may be smaller communities keeping the spirit alive while the larger system continues consuming itself.

Support independent art.
Support independent events.
Support the people still doing this for the love of it.
