Gold Fest 2026 Setup and meet the Tie-Dye Team!

Gold Fest is officially in the books! Woot!

Tons of fun, laughter, and delighted kiddos (and parents!) as far as the eye could see. From Zendoodles and Alpha-Bods (our straw stick figure crew) to Skewer Towers and Scroll Scapes, babies to elders alike came through and got their A-STEAM on in the Makerhaus Village ART KIDS ZONE. Each little maker brought their own flare of innovation, imagination, curiosity, and whimsy, with creations zooming through the village like twitterpated dragonflies, hummingbirds, and barn swallows all at once!

A huge thank you to Experience El Dorado for the opportunity to be part of Gold Fest. What a gift to bring Makerhaus into such a joyful community celebration!

I also have to give a huge shoutout to my tie-dye team, spectacularly fantabulous from setup, to guiding kiddos through their creations, all the way to teardown. A well-oiled team spirit with not a single grumble or hiccup in sight, and pretty impressive considering some of you had never helped in this capacity before! You showed up and showed OUT. 💜

Massive shoutout to our EMS helpers who actually helped, y'all rock! And to every good-sported soul (El Dorado PD included!) who stopped by, joined in the fun, and got a taste of what Makerhaus is all about, thank you for making Gold Fest so special.

STUDIO HABIT TUESDAY: DEVELOP CRAFT (Baxter the Beaver - Artisans)

Baxter doesn't rush a build. He's the Artisan Crew's engineer, steady paws, patient eyes, and a superpower for building anything with real precision.

Develop Craft means learning to use your tools and materials with care, and getting a little better at your skill every single time you pick it up.

Watch for it when your Artisan reaches for the same tool three sessions in a row and it starts to feel like an old friend instead of a challenge. That's Baxter's kind of progress.

I don't often get to share this side of the work, hearing directly from the people who welcome Makerhaus Collective in. Annie, Activities Director at ComfortCare Homes, took a moment to share her thoughts after our first Elders of the Prairie visit. 💜

What a Sunday at the Go! Augusta ABC Market!

Little makers turned pipe cleaners and pool noodles into beaded rainbow arches, blew life into their very own Ribbit Rocket frogs (tongue and all 👅), and got lost in the calm, curly lines of Zendoodles. Accordian screens got covered in doodles, tic-tac-toe, and a very serious game of hangman.

There's nothing quite like watching a kiddo's whole face light up when their sculpture finally stands on its own, or when that straw-powered tongue shoots out for the first time!

That's the wonder we chase every time we set up the tables!
