Latest carving collection.

A spalded ash axe handle for a carving axe. Head I found half buried and fully rusted, Gerry-rigged to a rotten haft. One of my proudest carves. Up there with Neolithic Beauty Standards and the next spoon.

A renge—or miso soup spoon—for a fam with an autistic child who will only use a renge. Loved making this. The kiddo using the spoon is a great joy to me. I didn’t share those. Not here to exploit.

A ring of ash to match the first ring. Both for my Kate.

The butter spreader is in there.

And the roses are just roses. Enjoy em.

My fourth and fifth scoop/spoon. Ash and basswood.

My second chain, which broke much in the process but inspired the ring in its repair.

I have many drawings on my to do list on my way to 100 pieces per year, but recently I’ve been carving my hands… I mean trying my hand at carving, but the former is just as accurate based on the amount of m blood spilt into this collection of basswood.

Can’t recommend the practice enough. Great for connecting your mind to your hands better. Meditative. Beyond satisfying, even in carving crap.

I mean in quality, not medium. Meh. Who am I to judge. You do you.

Every couple of years since I took up an for my own I’ve engaged in a .

Both to better track my , and to remain of where I’ve been and what rot I’ve seen/experienced.

Yesterday I realized it had been nearly four years since my last one so today saw the creation of another.

It was hard. For a lot of reasons. It took like 3 hours but it felt like 8. Which is funny because I usually say it might only be 4 but I can make it feel like 2.5! 🥁🥁

I’ve done 6 so far (if you don’t include the n**es that have others in em) and have included those here as a skill tracker.

With the way things are going, my next one is gonna look like a **e of Santa. Lol

The right of self-defense is the right for people as individuals to commit what could otherwise be deemed a crime for the purpose of defending their own life, or to defend the lives of others.

Violence committed against fascists is community and self defense.
