Goodnight Neverland!!!

Happy closing night to Peter and the Starcatcher

Such a fun project! Special shout-out to Howard and John for making me work and learn in their scene design classes in spite of my ardent insistence that I wasn't a designer and just wanted to paint big things. I'll admit, this designing thing is also pretty fun (especially if you get to design all of your favorite scenic artist things to then teach your students).

To the cast and crew, thank you for being brilliant and bringing it to life every night!

To the rest of the design team, y'all are also brilliant and made the scenery and actors look so good! Thanks for helping me build this crazy world of imagination.

To my students, thank you for all of your hard work and curiosity and mistakes and learning and creating and for putting up with me and my mistakes every day.

I can't wait any longer to make this post! My brilliant students got to paint their first real, full-sized drop! And just to make things extra exciting, the sky is a two sided translucencey! Basically that means, it's easy to mess up, impossible to fix if you do, and it makes theatre magic if it's done right. And they absolutely did it right!!!! You can get an idea of how that will work in the second picture. I guess the only pics I took were of the top of their heads šŸ™„ and so sorry to anyone who painted on this beauty who I didn't get a pic of to tag you. These wonderful students of ours pulled off one final project to end the year. Welcome to our Emerald City Gala!!! There was a balloon arch (that I didn't have to attach a single balloon to) Noah Elizabeth Emu donned a top hat and made an appearance, there was a giant snail, so much glitter everywhere and Bianca even agreed to take pictures with the shop family "cool aunt and cool uncle" before she leaves us forever šŸ˜­ we eventually got one where we looked as normal as possible. Such a lovely night!!!
