The Democrat Party has become a PR stunt.
Every political figure must have a public image. Good ones have an image like Harry S Truman, John F. Kennedy, George H.W. Bush, and Trump. Bad ones don’t usually get elected.
But public image and public relation stunts are two different things. I’d liken it to what Walz and the Democrats are doing to create hate and discontent with the Trump/Vance administration. It is as outlandish as the frozen turkey drop from WKRP radio that stands out as a classic failure although it was from a sitcom.
The problem is that the Walz sitcom is working. When you see comments by people who half-understand the ICE issue in Minnesota who think enforcing the law is mean, or unfair, you can bet they and many more will not vote for the administration this fall. When a Democrat gets sprayed with vinegar, an event the public has already said seemed staged, the PR Stunt made it the administration’s fault.
The Democrat PR machine had created a sort of ether that has much of the nation under the delusion that the purpose of government is supposed to be nice to us, help us, make us happy. And yet, they voted against reopening the government today. It will not allow TSA, The Coast Guard and other similar organizations to get a paycheck. To the Democrats, governing is all PR, so the Republicans-all of them, have to be the adults in the room to keep America safe.
The purpose of the Constitution was to give us the right and the opportunity to be happy. Getting there is our responsibility.
Government operates by restrictive measures. Sp*ed, you get a ticket, pay a fine. And you slow down every time you go through that area where you got that last ticket.
Murder and it just might execute you for your disregard for the Constitutional right for others to be happy. Sneak into our country and by law, we throw you out. Like the military, who it’s said breaks things and kills people under the right circumstances, restrictive measures are the logical consequence of unlawful behavior.
Government doesn’t have a behavioral improvement process. Therapy is not available, nor should it be. Our founding document is logical, the opportunity to be happy is guaranteed by no other country’s founding document. And therapy, having no standard result, doesn’t work for all.
We who have moral values must keep the founder’s idea that America is founded on doing right and wrong according to that Constitution and not the ideas of zealots with unproven and grossly wrong ideas. We must pledge allegiance to the Republic and keep the garden of Eden we were given. If we do not take point, and outvote these pretenders to good government, we may find ourselves in a modern day Holocaust.

Read Elon's warning. Take a friend to the polls. Conservitism isn't won even if Trump wins. We must take power from the Democrats.

I watched an old movie of Death Valley Days recently. The video is here as well as the text of George Vest's Tribute to a Dog from the 1800's case of shooting a dog "trespassing on someone's property."
To watch the episode -- https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0556919/

George Graham Vest (1830-1904) served as U.S. Senator from Missouri from 1879 to 1903 and became one of the leading orators and debaters of his time. This delightful sp*ech is from an earlier period in his life when he practiced law in a small Missouri town. It was given in court while representing a man who sued another for the killing of his dog. During the trial, Vest ignored the testimony, and when his turn came to present a summation to the jury, he made the following sp*ech and won the case:

gg

Gentlemen of the Jury: The best friend a man has in the world may turn against him and become his enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name may become traitors to their faith. The money that a man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it most. A man's reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us, may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads.

The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog. A man's dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master's side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer. He will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounters with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings, and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.

If fortune drives the master forth, an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him, to guard him against danger, to fight against his enemies. And when the last scene of all comes, and death takes his master in its embrace and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by the graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad, but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even in death.

U.S. Senator Vest’s very short closing argument in defending his client who sued another for killing his dog. It moved the jury and will make you blink..

Managing Expectations.
Other than people, we can only communicate with the animal kingdom. You and I are supposed to be masters. Still people are only a DNA squiggle from a mule or basset hound. Anyone who’s had dogs and trained them to do rudimentary things knows training animals is just a matter of getting them to do things they already know how to do. P**p, p*e, sit, stay, jump over this thing when you ask. You can make it fun for them and they will look forward to it. The oldest dog can be taught to beg by a great master who knows when and when not, to toss a treat. Communication is necessary.
People know how to do the right thing usually. If not, they need to be inspired. Our challenge as bosses, friends, or team members is to encourage and help them to do the right thing. Authors know you have the treats. We write begging for treats and, perhaps look forward to when we can show you our stuff.
Keeping this in mind, I try to create short stories, blog posts and novels that reach for what is good. Readers know what is good by reading. That’s why most books placed on Amazon sell few copies.
The writer’s conundrum is how to get the reader to tell us when we missed and did not. Not a five star review, but “Hey this is okay, good or this stinks,” and tell us why. Even the highest grossing author would like to hear that something just didn’t work. You have the treats, Toss’em.
Summer is here, there are picnics to be planned, kids to entertain, and new books to be read. Consider telling the author what you think.

It's all about you. I was challenged to write a piece about why I write, here are some of my thoughts -
Most writing is a solitary affair and your author spends that time alone to make you happy. There is a truism in the writing world that says, fiction is written to give the reader the opportunity to experience things, places and people they would not normally have in their lives. You read Stephen King’s Christine and got breathless as she killed simple humans or you walked with Michael Crichton’s, Dr. Alan Grant through Jurassic Park where picking up your pet’s p**p might take a front end loader. Those were great experiences, and you didn’t need to dodge a Runamok 1957 Plymouth Fury or run from a T-Rex whose goal was to eat you. There's nothing about safe about law enforcement but I try to write as if you were my favorite reader, so you can experience it as if you were there.
