Ken Evans is an American photographer exploring the essential elements of light, form, and texture to evoke introspection and thoughtful pause. His black-and-white images, developed over four decades, use negative space and abstraction to invite deeper perception of time and setting. Each project begins outdoors: remote, rural, or urban, and is led by light itself, drawing him to moments that cannot be duplicated. Evans also works in color with equal rigor. Through intentional camera movement (ICM) and painterly effects, he creates layered images where imagination meets reality, exploring color as deliberately as light and shadow. His process balances exploration with planning. He works extensively with medium format and 35mm film cameras, mirrorless digital equipment, and mobile devices, seeking the unique details nature offers in the moment. Each series is produced in strictly limited editions on archival materials for collectors, curators, and gallerists who value clarity of vision and lasting material quality. All prints include a certificate of authenticity for preservation and provenance. For inquiries, acquisitions, or curatorial collaborations, please contact Ken directly.
