New Blooms happening in the North End! Fresh flowers and greenery planted in our GNECD garden boxes at the Westerly Education Center, Jonnycake, Viking Supply Company, Grey Sail Brewing, Pucci's Carpet and the Pleasant Street Baptist Church. More photos of additional business boxes this month.
*** We are actively seeking volunteers of all ages who enjoy gardening and flower tending. Looking for individuals looking for 1-2 hours to prune, water and general garden care. Wonderful partnership with the Westerly Land Trust for the 2026 Earth Day Clean Up! Big thanks to Grey Sail for hosting our group after the clean up and to Jonnycake of Westerly for the two participant raffle gift cards. Also, hearty thank you to GNECD Board Member, Geoff Kaufman, for his gift of song today!
Most importantly, Huge Thanks to the many volunteers who took time out of their day to help keep Westerly clean & green, removing bags and buckets of litter throughout all of Westerly and the North End. 🌳🌸🌞

We are So excited to share that we are partnering with the Westerly Land Trust to host a super fun, community orientated 2026 litter clean up! On Christmas Eve, the North End celebrated with its yearly Luminaria event, lighting hundreds of candles on White Rock Road, High Street and Pierce Street.
We hope you may have seen the peaceful illuminations and enjoyed the quiet splendor they brought to the evening.
