After having to postpone their wedding from last fall due to conflicts and family health concerns, this incredible couple finally celebrated the day they had been patiently waiting for. Through every obstacle, uncertainty, and change of plans, they never lost sight of what mattered most—each other.

This is a wonderful reminder that the strongest relationships are built not when life is easy, but when two people face life's challenges together with grace, patience, and unwavering love.

As they begin this next chapter as husband and wife, we couldn't be happier for them. Their journey is proof that some things are worth waiting for, and that true love only grows stronger through adversity.

As their wedding song so perfectly captured: "Nothing's gonna stop us now….”

Congratulations to a truly deserving couple. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and love. Keep in touch!

From The Collection: Buttonwood Farm by Newell Convers Wyeth

An outstanding example of Wyeth’s “easel paintings”, Buttonwood Farm represents a decidedly impressionistic approach to painting. Buttonwood Farm also records the looming historic Sycamore or Buttonwood tree (now nearly 350 years old) which dominates the hill yard next to “Lafayette’s Headquarters” on the site of the Brandywine Battlefield State Park near Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The home is actually the Gilpin-Painter House which served in the early twentieth century as a boarding house for artist Howard Pyle and his students, including N. C. Wyeth. This painting was exhibited in 1920 in the Annual Exhibition of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and a clipping from an unidentified Philadelphia newspaper, describes the work as "N. C. Wyeth eloquently reading the lesson of the later autumn silhouette in his Among the Buttonwoods."

Newell Convers Wyeth (American, 1882-1945), Buttonwood Farm, 1919-1920, oil on canvas, Gift, George D. Horst, 1920.187.1

Upcoming Temporary Exhibit: Vic and Dena Hammel present: Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad.

This moving exhibition features nearly fifty beautifully dramatic color photographs, ephemera, and narratives that come together to tell the story of the Underground Railroad. Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad encourages visitors to learn more, ask questions, and open a dialogue on the subject; and in the end, provide a better understanding of our origins. The exhibition will be open from June 13 to August 11, 2026.

This exhibition was organized by ExhibitsUSA, a program of Mid-America Arts Alliance and is sponsored locally by Vic and Dena Hammel with additional local support from Jerry and Carolyn Holleran.
