Frontwave New Music Festival - Concert II

Tonight's program features fabulous harpist Kristina Finch, guest composer and pianist Xavier Beteta, and the always entertaining Piano Duo Gastesi-Bezerra. Kristina performs Full Moon Circle by Lake Worth-based composer Clare Shore (harp with fixed media), and Duo Gastesi-Bezerra perform works by Justin Rubin and PBA's own Marlene Woodward Cooper. Xavier performs his Tiene Duende (piano). Another fixed-media piece, junktures by Oregon composer Jason Fick rounds out the program.

Frontwave New Music Festival 2022 – Concert II | Live Music Project

Did you know that Palm Beach County is home to some fine composers? Chief among them is Clare Shore. Clare has an impressive musical pedigree and a long history of composing music of the highest caliber. She is a wonderful champion of new music and of women composers. Frontwave is honored to program the premiere performance of Full Moon Circle, a piece for harp with electronics created in collaboration with harpist Kristina Finch, who will be on hand to perform! Saturday, March 26 at 7:30 pm in the Helen K. Persson Recital Hall on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Xavier Beteta

I am excited to introduce you to Frontwave 22 featured composer Xavier Beteta. Xavier is part of the composition faculty at Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, along with Frontwave 2012 guest composer Shawn E. Okpebholo. You can hear two of his works on this year's concerts: Whale Fall for soprano, violin and cello, and Tiene Duende for piano.

Frontwave 2020 Call for scores and performers!

The Frontwave New Music Festival at Palm Beach Atlantic University invites scores to be considered for performance at the festival. The Frontwave festival takes place March 26–28, 2020 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
We are accepting pieces for solo instrument and chamber ensemble (up to five performers), as well as electroacoustic pieces. Instrumentation may include any combination of standard instruments, voice, and harpsichord. Performers are also encouraged to submit a proposal to perform a recently composed work.
Scores, audio files, proposals, and other materials may be uploaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/request/uhCwCu2Drv4OI4zhSL3e. Include your name, contact information, and the year of composition on the score. Please include your name in the filename of supporting materials. Email questions to [email protected]. For best consideration, submit materials by December 1, 2019.

What a great festival! Solid pieces, commanding performances, and good times all around.
