Maine Whitewater Championship Since 2012, Maine Whitewater Championship has been hosting kayak races on two of Maine's most awesome rivers, the Kennebec & Penobscot.

Join us on the Kennebec 08/10/24 and the Penobscot 08/17/24. You don't want to miss it! The Maine Whitewater Championship is dedicated to supporting New England's whitewater community, through competition on 2 of New England's hardest recreational rivers. Whitewater enthusiasts will enjoy not only a race, but a community-based event as well. Each event is followed by an awards ceremony and enterta

MWWC Penobscot River Race info:
There will be a men’s, women’s and junior’s category for kayaks. All kayaks must be 9’6 and under for the time trial and slalom. Long boats and duos will have no length requirements.

McKay Station
Check in: 9-10:00

Safety Meeting: 10:30

Time trial start 11:00a (starts at Rip Damn and runs through the bottom of Crib Works rapid)

Duo / long boat race 12:30p (same course as time trial)

Giant slalom: 2p (slalom course through Crib works rapid catching 5 eddies before finishing the rapid)

AWARDS CEREMONY: Awards will be held at North Country Lunch site at the falls
