Our competition teams offer a welcoming path for everyone, from our newest dancers stepping into the competition scene to seasoned dancers reaching the highest competitive levels. With six spacious studios & dedicated staff passionate about ongoing education, we take great pride in fostering a well-rounded dance education that empowers our dancers to achieve any goal they set their hearts on.

Eva Graziano is a graduate of Dowling Catholic High School and has been a dedicated member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for 13 years. During high school, she was a four-year member of the Dowling Catholic Varsity Dance Team and earned numerous honors, including four Academic Letters, four Dance Team Letters, the Academic Excellence Medal, the Silver Cord of Service, and three years of Ut Fidem recognition. She also participated in the Terra Livre Mission Trip. This fall, Eva will attend Florida Atlantic University, where she plans to major in Criminal Justice and minor in Dance.

One of her favorite dance memories is spending time with her friends at Nationals in Savannah, Georgia. Her advice to our dancers is, “Focus on your passion, resilience and unique expression. Above all, have fun!”

Brooklyn O’Conner is a graduate of Dowling Catholic High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for nine years. During high school, she earned a Varsity Letter all four years and was honored with the Aquinas Key Award for her academic achievements. This fall, Brooklyn will attend Iowa State University, where she plans to study Kinesiology and is a member of the Iowa State Dance Team.

One of her favorite memories came from sharing an Airbnb with some of her best friends at Nationals in Savannah, GA. Her advice to our younger dancers is, “Be present in the moment and enjoy every second; even the little moments can become the best memories.”

Ryenn Seifert is a graduate of Urbandale High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for eight years. During high school, she earned a three-year Varsity Letter in Dance Team, a Varsity Letter in Golf, was named to the All-Iowa Dance Team in 2025, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also recognized on the Honor Roll for four years and earned placement on the DMACC President’s List for three years. This fall, Ryenn will attend Iowa State University, where she plans to study Kinesiology on a pre-Occupational Therapy track.

One of her favorite dance memories is attending Nationals in Savannah, Georgia, where she was able to explore the city with friends and connect with dancers from other studios while staying in the hotels. Her advice to our younger dancers is, “Even when you’re focusing on trying to improve, make sure to realize the growth you’ve already made and be proud of that too!”

Brooklyn Coen is a graduate of Dowling Catholic High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for six years. Throughout high school, she has earned an Academic Letter, Academic Excellence Medal, Aquinas Key Award, Iowa Scholars Award, four years of Presidential Honor Roll recognition, four years of Central Iowa Metropolitan League Academic Recognition, and a Varsity Letter. This fall, Brooklyn will attend the University of Iowa to study Business.

One of her favorite dance memories was staying in a house with her teammates in Savannah, Georgia, and competing together at Nationals. Her advice to our dancers is, “Never take for granted the people around you. Time goes by very fast; it’s important to live in the moment and give your full effort.”

Lydia Crittenden is a graduate of Winterset High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for the past five years. In addition to dance, Lydia was a member of the Winterset Dance Team, where she deepened her passion for performing and teamwork. This fall, she will attend Southwestern Community College to pursue an Associate of Arts degree.

One of my favorite dance memories is attending Nationals each year. No matter the destination, our team always shows up for one another, works hard, and makes every moment so much fun! Her advice to our dancers is, “Making mistakes is proof that you are trying! - but also be a goldfish!”

Anna Rauen is a graduate of Dowling Catholic High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for four years. During high school, she earned a Varsity Letter in Dance, an Academic Letter, and the Aquinas Key Award in recognition of her academic and extracurricular achievements. This fall, Anna will attend Marquette University, where she plans to study Human Resources.

One of her favorite memories is traveling to Savannah, GA, for Nationals. Her advice for our younger dancers is, “Don’t take it too seriously—remember to enjoy the process, laugh through the mistakes, and appreciate every moment you get to dance.

Iliana Ruiz is a graduate of Indianola High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for three years. During high school, she earned the Seal of Biliteracy, received four letters on her high school dance team, was named to the All-Iowa Honor Dance Team for one year, and made the Dean’s List at DMACC. This fall, Iliana will attend the University of Northern Iowa, where she plans to study Communications with a minor in Public Relations.

One of her favorite dance memories is the moments leading up to going backstage and right before walking on stage—times she describes as fun and freeing, especially when she sees every dancer fully in their element. Her advice to our younger dancers is, “Always keep pushing to be the best possible version of yourself you can be. There will be challenges in life, not just within the studio, but keep showing up for your teammates and invest your time into your dance family; you won’t get those moments back!”

Katelyn Moffitt is a graduate of Indianola High School and has been a member of the Brekke Dance Center competition team for the past three years. During high school, she earned three varsity letters in Show Choir, was a four-year member of the Varsity Dance Team, earned a varsity letter in Cheer, and was an active member of both FFA and 4-H. This fall, Katelyn will attend Georgia Southern University, where she plans to study Finance and will participate on the Georgia Southern Dance Team.

One of her favorite dance memories is traveling to Savannah, Georgia, for Nationals and sharing that experience with her teammates. Her advice to our younger dancers is, “Enjoy the moments and make the best of each class you take!”
