One of our Chapter Members - Come out and see Amanda this Friday!

Join us for First Friday on June 5 from 5pm to 8pm at the PA Guild of Craftsmen Store in Downtown Lancaster, PA, featuring modular origami artist Amanda Church.

"Crafts have always held a special place in my heart, growing into a lasting passion from childhood," Amanda says. "From the very first time I folded a sheet of paper, I was drawn to the magic of origami — the way something simple can transform into something extraordinary."

Amanda's modular origami is a technique that uses multiple folded units assembled into intricate, three-dimensional forms. Each piece is like solving a puzzle—figuring out how the parts connect to create balance, structure, and beauty. Come watch the art of paper transformation!

The Guild Store is at 335 N Queen St, Lancaster, PA.

Pat Scarano will be with us for our Chester County Craft Guild Summer Show.
About Pat- "My art is a reflection of the healing power of nature. Being alone in nature allows me to be truly present in the moment; a place to unplug, unwind and exhale.
So often in life we feel the need to be in control. Daily responsibilities and sometimes unforeseen circumstances can make us feel as if we are in a constant state of over drive. I know. I have been there. Solitary time in nature even for a brief time allows me to process my emotions and recalibrate. The sounds, smells and sheer beauty of nature have an immediate calming effect on me.

When I paint I try to recreate these moments in a realistic and tangible way using both oil and watercolor as my mediums.

As you view my work I hope that you will experience those moments with me."

Elizabeth Hughes will be with us for our Chester County Craft Guild Summer Show. Elisabeth works in oils and watercolor. About Elizabeth's work -
"My subjects are landscapes, flowers and still life. My love of nature came from growing up in a state park in Upstate New York. It wasn’t until I neared retirement, however, that I began to paint. I wanted to capture the beauty of my surroundings. Now I paint as often as possible. Spending time painting in my studio is very Zen-like. It is a great antidote to everyday stress. I especially enjoy the challenge of making objects appear to be 3-dimensional on a 2-dimensional surface."
