Part 1:
1989: One fateful night, in a small town in Georgia on outskirts of the Savannah River, a catastrophic radiation leak occurred at a nearby nuclear plant, seeping into the waters of the Savannah River. The contamination spread like a silent menace, infiltrating the soil, the plants, and even the animals that called the area home. Authorities swiftly issued a mandatory evacuation order, urging residents to flee to safety. Most heeded the warning, leaving behind their homes and memories. However, one family, known as the Hills family, stubbornly refused to abandon their ancestral land. Despite the risk of the radiation, they decided to stay and tough it out in the contaminated area. The once beautiful woodland area, was now known as “Dead Pines”.
