I'm diving into impressionist painting. I painted it with oil on canvas with only palette knives. I took the reference photo for this painting while on a bike ride last summer. Its the Barker Rd Bridge over the Pike River in Amberg, WI.
I love color and it is so much fun to paint this way!

Michigan League of Handweavers 23rd Biennial Fiber Art Show

Eligibility
Michigan League of Handweavers members are invited to submit up to three original entries in Fiber Art and/or Functional Fiber Art categories. No size restrictions. All artwork must use a fiber technique. Fiber techniques include weaving, spinning, felting, knitting, crochet, knotting, quilting, dyeing, embroidery,
surface design, garment design and construction, bead-weaving, dollmaking, papermaking and basketry. All submissions must be completed within the last two years. All works previously displayed at Michigan League of Handweavers exhibits are ineligible.

So pleased to announce that my "Northern Cardinal" felted sculpture was awarded Honorable Mention at the Fabrications VII: A Fiber Arts Show at The Bonifas Arts Center in Escanaba, MI. The show runs Jan 9 -Feb 19.

Award winning artist and weaver, Carol Irving, will be speaking on her recent travel adventures to Sweden, partially funded by the Bonifas and the Barb Symon Scholarship. Join us during the current exhibition of Fabrications to learn more about Sweden and her solo trip to learn more about weaving and this amazing country. The presentation takes place on January 14, starting at noon.
This will be at The Bonifas Art Center, Escanaba, MI.
