Nearly 20 years ago our Watseka Theatre opened its doors with a free concert to all WWII Veterans. My Sister-In-law, Donna, checked them in and at show time 33 were in attendance. 33! Of those 33, mostly of the area and mostly from farming families, 31 enlisted into the Navy! Heroes each and everyone. They made America what it was yesterday, is today and forever. And today our Granada Theatre’s stage holds the flag of another WWII veteran of the Okinawa and Iwo Jima campaigns. These soldiers then and now continue to make America the greatest country in the World. We post the picture of perhaps the most famous soldier associated with entertainment, lost serving his country.
On a side note, I was friends with the son of the man and fellow band member who drove Glenn to the airfield in England the last day of his life-🇺🇸

Yesterday presented the COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGOS’s Commencemt. A commencement I designed over 33 years ago. What a treasure Columbia is and FYI it’s a fine arts college. I am the site producer and Debra stage manages and calls the show. Here’s a short video of their MANIFEST FESTIVAL that starts the weekend off (end of their school year) and would also be a perfect festival fit for The Dalles. & the processional of the ‘Faculty’ entering the arena. Who else thinks this would be a hit in town?! WE DO!! Please comment!

Watseka Theatre: Last Night’s Comedy!
John Cap, T.J. & Brian Hicks what a great show in our little town! John is just off his Vegas tours and lo and behold here he is in little ol’ Watseka! The crowd loved the show & if you don’t believe me just ask anyone who was here. And last night was truly an out of town audience. Not too many local folks, lots of out of towners and tons of first timers! TONS!
