People can over pay for a double crochet scrap bag but paying independent crocheters fairly for their time and effort is somehow inconceivable. I always undercut myself accounting only about $5 an hour for my time and the rest is cost and I still don't have people willing to support.

Day 2 Progress Update
Today I spent much time stitching in reflection. Cancer is a disease that manages to touch all our lives in some way at some time. Personally, I lost two great grandmothers to cancer, one to breast cancer before I was born who I was given her name, the other I lost to colon cancer too soon. A friend of mine growing up lost her battle to leukemia after an arduous journey. I didn't think it would take someone so young. A family friend fought uterine cancer that ended up taking her, too. Cancer has robbed so much from us it feels vindicating to create something beautiful in their honor. 🌸

I am participating in the American Cancer Society's crafting fundraiser for a cure. Every day of April, I will try to work on a project that I've decided will be a six day star blanket {pattern by } and Caron's Berry Ripple color-way. I thought the variations encompassed many awareness colors like lavender for all cancers, pink for breast, peach for uterine, orange for leukemia, purple for pancreatic. At the end of the month, I will do a raffle to decide who wins the blanket. Every $1 donation equals one raffle entry. I can't wait to get started! 🧶
