Those who arrive in the United States, we will need help them with resettlement (housing, clothing, food and local paperwork) and in their new home. At the Veteran Ready Summit in Washington, D.C., I heard a veteran passionately speak about the vital role his interpreter played in their mission. As a terp myself, I deeply respect the sacrifices of all who serve. Military interpreters work in dangerous environments, bridging cultural gaps and building trust, often risking their lives and facing retaliation after service. They deserve the same respect as combat veterans for their sacrifices.
