A wild end to Fringe 2026: our Director of Volunteers and a group of patrons got stuck in the UDC's theatre elevator last night. Fortunately, the patrons were members of the DC Labor Chorus, so they passed the time with beautiful songs!

Our Closing Party is now at the Flicker Bar. Join us for drinks, snacks, and a secret cabaret. What’s the secret, you ask? You’ll have to come and find out. Trust us - you won’t want to miss it!

The party starts at 8:30 PM, and the secret cabaret starts at 9. Will we see you there?

TONIGHT ONLY: Transmission Theatre Project presents their staged reading of THE RIVER, a coming-of-age epic about first love and loss, and the people who get left behind. It follows sisters Sofia and Molly, children of a single mother in rural Massachusetts, over two summers. The sisters, along with friends Collin and Keith, befriend Stella, a trans girl. Molly falls for Stella, Keith falls for Sofia, and Collin smokes a joint. All is well in rural America. The misfits may finally have found a home. However, everything changes when tragedy strikes. Wracked with grief, the teens must reexamine all they had thought certain about this world. THE RIVER is the story of kids that America has left behind, and what they do to try to leave their mark.

The market is postponed, but the Flicker Bar is still open today for drinks, show tickets, and 2pm magic!

Sadly, we have to cancel the Christmas in July Pop-Up Market today, due to the predicted thunderstorms that will be coming through.

But there's good news!

First, the FREE KID-FRIENDLY MAGIC SHOW at District Fringe at 2 is still on! Go to the Flicker Bar at 4340 Conn Ave. and get your magic on!

Second, Christmas in July is now Christmas in September! We'll bring the market back then so save the date!

These fabulous shows start their District Fringe runs today: CUPBOARD'S CABARET, THE WELL, and SPEED SKATING SLOTH! Plus, join us at the Firefly Amphitheatre tonight for a free concert from local band Night Collar and a Bluegrass Jam Open Mic. Remember, some shows have very short runs (Cupboard's Cabaret is one night only), so be sure to get your tickets ASAP!
