We had so much fun with you all at Art All Night on Friday!! We raised $2,210 for mutual aid. That’s meaningful, material support for local and global neighbors made possible by a true group effort: the volunteers who painted and assembled earrings, the borrowed tent, the shared instagram posts and friends who told friends about Studio K**i, every single one of you who made a purchase. We love our community filled with art and generosity!

TL;DR: Studio K**i invites participating artists in this year’s Art All Night to donate any portion of proceeds to a mutual aid fund supporting Gaza Champions & MSMA. 𝗧𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱, 𝗗𝗠 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲'𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂!

Studio K**i is DC’s only not-for-profit ceramics studio based in Mount Pleasant. We offer affordable, community-centric pottery classes, and donate all profits to mutual aid initiatives locally and in Palestine.

Inspired by the theme of this year’s Art All Night, Aquí Estamos, we see a beautiful opportunity to build solidarity among the DC artist community, our immigrant community, and Palestinians facing ongoing genocide and occupation.

In 2021, “lan narhal" (Arabic: لن نرحل, meaning "We will not leave") became a central rallying cry and slogan for Palestinian residents and global solidarity movements during the Sheikh Jarrah protests in occupied East Jerusalem. It signified the refusal of Palestinian families who faced forced eviction from their homes amid legal battles with Israeli settler organizations. Of course, the struggle against Palestinian displacement continues to this day.

𝗔𝗾𝘂í 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.

𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀. We’ll be donating 100% of our profits to a mutual aid fund split among MSMA and Gaza Champions—two DC-based organizations supporting migrants arriving in DC, and families affected by genocide in Gaza, respectively—and we invite any and all artists to do the same. Any percentage of profits is welcome!
