Harmonic Introductions A vocal ensemble dedicated to the art of overtone singing. Available for workshops, lessons, & more! What is overtone singing?

Celebrating 10 years this year, Harmonic Introductions is a vocal ensemble dedicated to the art of overtone singing. Founded in Spring 2012, we currently hold weekly sessions in Rockville, MD using a variety of vocal exercises to teach our members and develop further their techniques of polyphonic overtone singing. A medium of singing that enables one vocalist to resonate and, with practice, control 2 or more notes at the same time. Harmonic Introductions creates vocal playspaces for people to get to know their own voice more intimately via meditative improvisation. We also perform fully composed works, which can, for example, have 5 singers resonating in 10 part harmony, etc. We are available for private lessons, group workshops, performances, and other collaborations. We set out to continue building upon a community of enthusiasm and appreciation for polyphonic overtone singing within the D.C. metro area, and to play a role in the continued growth of this vocal medium globally.
