🚨 Attention ATM Users! Major Rule Changes from April 1! 🚨
Getting cash from the ATM is about to get more expensive and restricted starting April 1st. Here is everything you need to know about the new banking rules:
🔹 UPI ATM Withdrawals Will Be Charged: At banks like HDFC, withdrawing cash from an ATM using UPI will now be treated just like a regular debit card transaction. Once you cross your monthly free limit, you will have to pay ₹23 plus taxes per withdrawal.
🔹 Lower Daily Withdrawal Limits: Punjab National Bank (PNB) is slashing the daily withdrawal limits on several debit cards by half! Limits are dropping from ₹1 Lakh to ₹50,000 for many regular cards, and from ₹1.5 Lakh to ₹75,000 for premium cards.
🔹 Tighter Limits on Free Transactions: Free ATM usage is shrinking. For example, Bandhan Bank will now only allow 3 free transactions in metro cities and 5 in non-metros at other banks' ATMs.
🔹 Stricter Penalties: Beware of low balances! A failed ATM transaction due to insufficient funds will now attract a ₹25 penalty. Even simple non-financial transactions, like just checking your balance at another bank's ATM, will cost you ₹10 once you cross your free limit.
💡 Smart Tips to Avoid Extra Charges:
✅ Track your monthly ATM usage carefully.
✅ Always use your own bank's ATM or mobile banking app for balance checks.
✅ Plan your large cash withdrawals in advance.
✅ Switch to digital and online payments wherever possible!
