Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you all well. As I embark on 2024, I wanted to share an important personal update, one that I didn't want to make a big deal out of, but felt necessary to announce:
I have officially retired from DJing.
I thought I share a quick recap of my DJ career:
I started with gigs at bars and nightclubs, while balancing a full-time job alongside a busy DJ schedule:
- Tuesdays at Mahalo Cove in Sterling, VA.
- Wednesdays for Salsa Nights in Frederick, MD.
- Thursdays at Front Page, DC.
- Fridays at Federal House in Annapolis, MD.
- Saturdays were dedicated to weddings and corporate events.
Eventually, my calendar shifted to mainly DJing for Skylite DC from Wednesday through Saturday at clubs like El Centro 14 & Georgetown, Masa 14, and Toro Toro. One of the craziest things I did was DJing at a wedding and then go spin at a club on Fridays and Saturdays. Looking back, I really don't know how I did it, but I loved every moment!
It's with mixed emotions that I make this decision. On one hand, I'm going to miss the thrill of crushing a great party. On the other, I'm looking forward to getting my weekends back.
I am forever grateful for the experiences I've had. The dedication to work crazy hours was fueled by a true passion for DJing, and this enthusiasm made every event special.
To all of my clients over the years, your trust and support have meant the world to me. The joy of bringing music and celebration to your most cherished events has been a true highlight of my career. The memories created during these times will always hold a special place in my heart.
As I turn the page, I'm excited to focus on other professional ventures. The experiences and skills I've gained as a DJ will undoubtedly influence my future endeavors.
Thank you all for being part of this incredible chapter in my life. Here's to new beginnings and continued connections!
If you want to stay connected with me, feel free to add me on my other page, Michael Cruz.
