Dear comunidad:

10 years ago, Los Gallos Negros was formed in D.C. to provide a space for like minded musicians and to share excellent música mexicana with the public. The group has performed at The White House, The National Portrait Gallery, and all around the nation’s capital, creating new fans of Mexican music and bringing familiar sounds to those who grew up with it.

Since then, the group has seen bandmates come and go and now has a different makeup from when it started. During the early dark period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the group took to virtual rehearsals to keep the musical espíritu alive with sounds new and old.

With public health guidance, we are reigniting our efforts through outdoor rehearsals and a dozen new songs from many corners of América Latina.

It is with this sense of rebirth that we have come to embrace a change to our repertoire and brand. Like a fénix, we have risen from the ashes and are flying más alto than before.
