Sad and disappointed to get the news today about the passing of a dear colleague, respected journalist and friend, Ann Hornaday who passed away last night. For over two decades, we watched films, updated each other on the going ons of our lives but most importantly shared our love of movies. I last saw and talked with her at last year's Middleburg Film Festival and while she was recovering, her spirit was strong. To say a valued member of our film community will be missed is an understatement but I will also miss your laughter and insight. Rest well, Ann!

Under the Cherry Moon

"We finna celebrate. We gone celebrate what? My divorrrrce—"
Brown Sugar

Messy relationships? No film festival can thrive without them. THIS TEMPTING MADNESS starring Simone Ashley is our opening night film, and the messiness is deliciously juicy (and scary too). With over 70 films, that's not the only relationship drama on screen.
