A 5” post vice I acquired recently. During cleanup I found many markings. What I found is that it was made by the Singer & Nimick Co. I was able to find very little about the origination of the company. What I did find is that it predates the singer sewing machine which was 1851. Singer, Nimick & Company was a prominent 19th-century Pittsburgh steel manufacturing firm, founded by the Singer and Nimick families, that existed until it merged with the Crucible Steel Company around 1900.

Next project is leaf made from 1/2” round bar that is to be incorporated into a small piece. I chose a S hook. Will be redoing this one as I am not real happy with the leaf or S hook.
