Bench reps dropped a little across sets but 265 for 8 on the opener is where I wanted to be. Incline dumbbells at 110 didn't budge, all three sets at 12. Finished with flyes and pushdowns to burn everything out.

Scale said 273.8 this morning. That's down 15 lbs from 2/3 and 7 from two weeks ago. Still a long way to go but I’m so happy to be making progress.

I did stream the workout today. I'm trying to figure out a regular schedule but I've got some family stuff with my youngest that's keeping things unpredictable right now. Once that settles I'll lock in consistent days. For now I'm showing up when I can and putting the work in either way.

Month one check-in.

288.8 to 275.1. Almost 14 pounds down in about five and a half weeks.

I want to be real about what changed, because it wasn't just one thing.

The diet came first. I was averaging close to 2,900 calories a day back in January and going over my budget more days than not. I started actually tracking everything in Lose It, meal prepping, and paying attention to what I was eating instead of just how much. My sugar intake was out of control... 164 grams a day. I've cut that almost in half. Still not where I need to be, but it's moving.

I also restructured my workouts. I'm running a 4-day split now. Legs and shoulders twice a week, chest and triceps twice a week. Progressive overload, consistent movements, no program hopping. I'm working around a tennis elbow flare-up in my left arm, so the first couple weeks have been modified. No pulling movements yet. That changes next week when rows and pulldowns come back in.

And yes, I started Wegovy about three weeks ago. I'll have a lot more to say about that soon, because the conversation around weight loss medication is one I think more people need to hear. But what I'll say right now is this: the medication didn't replace the work. It made the work actually stick. The food noise quieted down. The cravings aren't running the show anymore. I'm still in the gym. I'm still tracking every meal. The difference is that now my body isn't fighting me every step of the way.

This isn't a before and after. It's a during. And I'm going to keep showing up and sharing the real numbers, not just the highlights.

Chest and triceps tonight, streamed live on Twitch.

255 on bench press for three working sets. Second set I got 9 reps which honestly caught me off guard. Incline dumbbell press at 110 for sets of 12. Cable fly crossovers, single arm dumbbell flys at 50, then closed it out with triceps rope pushdowns.

The stream had some technical glitches because apparently we can't have a clean broadcast and a good workout on the same night. Priorities were made. The weights don't care about your OBS settings.

OHP: 145 for 10, 6, 7

Standing Cable Glute Kickbacks: 50 to 60

Lateral Raises: 3x10 @ 40

205 on hip thrusts is getting too easy so that's going up next week. OHP was a different story. My shoulders have always been a weak point from old injuries, and I tweaked it earlier this week so I knew going in that 145 was going to be a fight. Got 10 clean on the first set and then set 2 I just didn't have it. Came back and got 7 on set 3 so not a total loss but it's definitely something I need to keep an eye on.

Also finally got my streaming software updated today so... return to Twitch might actually be on the horizon. More on that soon.

So I'm down 12 lbs since the beginning of February. Started at 288.8 on Feb 3rd and I'm still pushing the same weight in the gym which is honestly the part I was most worried about losing.

Chest and triceps today. Barbell bench at 245 for two sets of 10, then set 3 hit me at rep 6 and I was done. Incline DB at 110 for clean 12s. Cable flys, single arm DB flys, triceps pushdowns, overhead extensions. Full session.

Five weeks of actually showing up consistently. That's it. That's the post. 💪
