Why do we focus on emerging artists like Lorraine Victoria Kanyike | DJ SUNBEAM? Because Boston’s creative future isn’t somewhere else. It’s rightchea, waiting for a stage.

Here’s what drives us:

🎤 Emerging artists are local, and they need real opportunities to take the next step in their careers.
🏙️ We don’t want them to leave Boston😭. We want them to thrive here as our creative infrastructure grows and evolves.
🌱 We want to grow with them, not just book them once.
🤝🏽 Every show builds mutual followings organically. Their fans discover us, our community discovers them.

Slow nights are the quiet killer. You’re paying rent, paying staff, keeping the lights on, and the room isn’t earning. Do that two nights a week and it’s real money by the end of the quarter.

Dead hours are the quietest problem in placemaking, and this year I activated over 500% more of them. Revenue’s up 39% and the year’s not even done.

Honest part: I’ve been undercharging, and that changes now. Fair to the artists I work with, fair to me. Got an hour that goes dark? That’s exactly what I do. 🎪

The night didn’t end when Root wrapped last Friday. Late Night Lounge picked up right where The Listening Room left off, taking the energy from The Substation straight to for the after-party to celebrate .🪩

This is the part of the series that doesn’t always make it into the recap: the after-hours space where the conversations get longer, the connections get realer, and the night becomes something you remember for reasons beyond the music. Massive shoutout to .queen, whose set absolutely slapped and carried the room. Thank you to Midnight Morning for hosting the vibe.
