The Woman's Club of King & Queen County

The Woman's Club of King & Queen County, VA is a civic/community service organization. Our Club house was the first two-room school in the Courthouse area.

Since 1934, the Woman's Club of King & Queen County, VA has striven to bring the women in the county into closer unity and promote the civic, moral, social and cultural welfare of others through volunteer activities. It was built in 1909. By 1932 classes were being held elsewhere. Two years later the King and Queen Woman's Club purchased the building. The Woman's Club of King and Queen County club

house is located at the historic King and Queen County Courthouse "Green" District on Allen Circle, less than a minute from "The Trail". Our monthly programs focus on educating ourselves about our schools, political issues, cultural issues and overall welfare of families within our borders. The meetings begin at 1 PM on the third Thursday after the first Monday of each month September to April. In May the annual luncheon is at a local restaurant where on alternating years, we have installation of officers. We welcome YOU to unite with us to continue this mission and become part of our "family". Thrive will be giving a presentation about providing free books to all children of King and Queen. This wonderful initiative is sponsored by Dolly Parton and is a fantastic opportunity for us to support all of our children. At times, we all need a good laugh and time spent with friends, both old and new, who share an enthusiasm for playing cards or board games. We extend an invitation to you to join us for our annual games day. You are welcome to bring your favorite games—it is always enjoyable. Mark your calendars for January 22nd at 1 PM and bring your friends along. We will gather at the clubhouse on the Courthouse Green. Refreshments will be provided.

The Woman’s Club of King and Queen celebrated its holiday luncheon at Mount Elba in Walkerton. Carol Walker Lowry generously hosted this event at her beautiful home. We enjoyed a gift exchange, donated to the food bank, and brought supplies for schools. We would love for you to join us at any of our meetings. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

The Woman's Club of King and Queen extends its gratitude to the Republican Club of King and Queen for selecting us to cater their Christmas Party. We maintain a neutral stance regarding any political party or candidate, focusing instead on providing catering and venue services to all community groups. These endeavors enable us to preserve our historic clubhouse and support community activities. We are committed to serving the entire community.

Republican Party of King and Queen County Reminder

Don't forget the Republican Party Christmas party on Tuesday, December 9, at the Woman's Club at 6:30. A delectable meal prepared by the ladies will be served at 6:30 for $25, followed by a visit from one of Santa's elves hosting the Chinese auction of inexpensive gifts provided by attendees. Come one, come all, bring a gift, and receive a gift. Please call or text Bill Rilee at (804 512-1688) no later than noon on Saturday to make your reservation. Feel free to bring a friend to share in the festivities.
