I dropped in today, at Opal Dragonfly Boutique & Makers' Market, just to check on my space, but it’s impossible not to wander around the store looking at all the amazing items that the makers have created. 💕 👀 So MANY things I want!! 😁

Well today I treated myself to something I’ve had my eye on for a while. I bought a hand-made leather journal with hand-made paper, by The Iris Gifts and Engraving .

It’s a beautiful book 😍 Of all the style choices that butterfly latch 🦋 won me over.

I had to come straight home and try it out!! I used all of my supplies to see what would work and what would not.

The paper has a nice texture which worked well with soft pastels & charcoal pencils. All of my uni-ball and liner pens went on smoothly. Being hand-made the paper is more delicate than most papers, so markers, watercolors, anything too wet is not going to work without risk of damaging the paper. I absolutely love it and look forward to filling it with words and pictures!!

🌿🎨 Just finished my latest piece and couldn’t wait to share it! This fun and funky character brings a whole new meaning to “plant lady.” I painted this with the idea of giving a potted plant a bold personality — complete with stylish glasses, pink cheeks, and a head full of vibrant greenery (and yes, that bow is everything 💚💙💛).

She’s a little quirky, a little fabulous, and full of life — just like the plants (and people!) that inspire me.

I’ve updated my little space at Opal Dragonfly Boutique & Makers' Market in Wadsworth! It’s filled with my colorful art (hello, chickens and giraffes!) and a curated mix of vintage treasures that make me smile—think sweet teacups, charming glassware, and a few quirky surprises.

If you’re in the area, come take a stroll through the shop. There are so many talented makers here, and I’d love for you to see my little corner of it!

When I first tried painting with oils, it was a complete disaster. I made a mud painting. However, I am not in the habit of giving up so easily. I watched a few videos and I was going about it all wrong 🤯 I am very happy that I can now paint more than mud.

This swan is the beginning to my new found love for oil painting.
