While the bard is contemplating which play we should do next summer, he is recommending that you go see the play this weekend at the Landmark Center Theater. Our good friends at are bringing their show to Viroqua and our fellow thespians at are hosting them!

Did you know....two of our regular Shakespearean actors are also talented goofballs! They have their own production company, Wisconsin Family Theater. Last year, they brought Morris and Boris to the Shakespeare Festival, but these photos are from 2024 when they performed Frog and Toad Stories.

Looking back to the start of the madness.....As You Like It in 2022, performed in the field behind the house that held the college. We are now looking forward to our 5th annual festival in 2026. What will we do next????

For anyone interested in seeing the new campus, and celebrating the arrival of fall 🍁🍂, and reveling in the incomparable wordsmithing of the Bard of Stratford-upon-Avon (with apologies to 😉) - we have and opportunity for you! On Saturday October 1 and Sunday October 2, the Jones Classical Theater and Thoreau College will present the first ever VIROQUA SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL). With a cast of local and professional players, under the direction of Willie Jones III, AS YOU LIKE IT will be performed starting a 4 pm each day. The performances will be outdoors on the grass at the Thoreau College campus, 224 E Hwy 56. Please bring blankets or lawn chairs. There will also be an entrance on South St, near the junction with 56. Guests are encouraged to come early, starting at 2, for music, cide pressing, sonnets, and general pastoral merriment. Admission is free to all.
