Doesn't this new house-themed artwork by Terre Haute artist Emily Bennett Studio add that extra color color to the Vincennes Trolley stop outside the Vincennes City Hall?

"MODERN TIMES: Watching the Wheels Go Round and Round" brings a lot of firsts to our collection: It's our first sculpture by a Vincennes artist (Fernando Lozano), and the first to use translucent materials, which creates a striking, colorful shadow that changes throughout the day. Enjoy this piece at the intersection of 3rd and Main Streets on your next stroll through downtown Vincennes, Indiana!

New season, new views. This year, we bid farewell to Stephen Klema's "Hobbes Claw Unsheathed" after 3 years on display, and installed new artwork on one of our most visible pads, outside the Beckes Student Union on 2nd Street. Join us in welcoming "Helicopter Seeds", one of two sculptures by Michigan artist Brian Ferriby to be featured in the 2025 exhibition!
If you didn't know: Program sculptures from around the US are on sale during a three year rotation in Vincennes, and unsold artwork makes way for new pieces. Ask how you or your organization can purchase a favorite sculpture to make it a permanent part of a vibrant Vincennes.

Refreshing public artwork: raise your hand if you've seen any of these sculptures pop up in Vincennes this week!🙋‍♀️ Installation continues, but let us not delay in congratulating Emily Bennett Studio, Brian Ferriby, and Fernando Lozano for having their work selected for the 2025 exhibition.
(With special thanks to the Vincennes University Physical Plant for providing critical human and machine power).

"Fitzroy's Guitar" by Alex Mendez:

"Mendez's lighthearted, optimistic, and carefree nature is reflected in every piece of his work. He creates large scale visual representations of love, peace, music, movement, and nature.
The title refers to legendary Trinidad jazz guitarist, Fitzroy Coleman, who had perfect pitch as a very young person.
He made his first guitar out of a piece of wood, with a flat pan nailed to it, and strung it with marling, humming the tunes with his voice. At 18, he taught himself to play his dad's real guitar on the sly, since his dad forbade him to touch it. A few years later, he made a living playing with bands in England."

See Fitzroy's Guitar in Gregg Park. It's our July social sculpture!
